Day 16 - Time for Action

Day 16: Found another "Ricky" charging $699 per garage cleanout. I'm doing this! Here's my plan to build a real service business. Time for action. Energy is back!

Day 16 - Time for Action
We're starting a garage cleaning division...

Hey everyone, I'm back and I'm excited. I took one day off from writing last week (first missed day, ugh) and my Teacher writes the weekly recap each week (yesterday was Week 2) so I've technically been out two days.

I'm tired of "playing house" and its time to get to work. "Playing house" is a term my Teacher uses for working in the business and not on the business.

I met another "Ricky" and he's doing something CRAZY. Well, I didn't actually meet him, but I listened to him speak on a YouTube video.

Here is what the other "Ricky" does:

  • He cleans out peoples garages
  • Charges $699 per garage
  • In the first month he cleaned 16 garages (that's $11,184)
  • If they have "expensive" stuff (just not junk) they don't want, he sells it.
  • He has more customers than he can handle

I'm doing this!

So, here is my plan this week.

  • Create an Ad that I can run on Facebook (this is what he does)
  • Define my ideal customer (I'm thinking nice neighborhoods)
  • See if I get any leads
  • See if I can close the lead
  • Hire someone to do the work (don't know how to find them yet)
  • Sell anything good we can find

This is EXACTLY the origin story of Flip-n-Ricky. My grandpa wanted to clean out his garage. He didn't want the boat anymore so he got me to sell it for him.

We've got money to run ads and see if we can get any leads.
I'll just need to learn how to make an ad and actually run it on facebook.

If this works, we could actually build a real business and maybe hit our goal.

Please reach out if you know how to:

  • Make an ad
  • Run an ad on Facebook
  • Are willing to help me

The Risk

My Teacher asked me: "What if you spend money on ads and get zero leads?"

Good question.

Then I learned how to make ads, how to run them, and what DOESN'T work. That's still progress.

Plus, we have $4,000.

If I spend $100-200 testing ads and learn something, that's worth it.

I'd rather TRY and fail than keep hunting on Facebook Marketplace and find nothing.

At least this is a PLAN.

Teacher's Notes

There are so many great lessons in this. I'm so proud of Ricky for trying this and can't wait to see where it goes.

The biggest win today is that Ricky has an Action Plan.

This will create momentum even if he doesn't get any interest.
