Day 25 - First Day of Ads

Day 25: First day of Facebook ads! 29 clicks, $0.28 CPC, 728 impressions, zero calls. Are these numbers good? Plus, got help from a sponsor. Learning every day.

Day 25 - First Day of Ads
The ads are alive

Hey everyone! The Facebook ads are running. It's kind of weird. You spend all the time preparing the ads, the listing, the forms, and then once you hit go there is really nothing to do.

But wait...

Here's the stats from our first day of ads:

The results from Day 1:

  • 29 people clicked the ad
  • $0.28 CPC (cost per click)
  • Total amount spent: $8.20
  • Total impressions: 728
  • Total customer calls: 0

What I don't know yet is whether these numbers are any good or not. When I searched for industry averages, here is what I found:

People are clicking and the ads seem to be working. Let's GO!!!!

Our Sponsor: the Markety

So, several days back, I mentioned we may have a Sponsor (someone who wants to help me). The company is called The Markety.

Right now, they are just being nice and helping me when I have questions and they are helping me run the Facebook ads.

Here is what they told me about the ad campaign:

"Customers want low friction. No need to have them fill out a form. People want convenience. let’s funnel them to our messenger. But since the Flip-n-Ricky socials are new, the best way is to run an awareness campaign first, before an engagement campaign. that means we’ll show the vid to people who’ll watch and react first, before we run a campaign for people who’ll engage with us.

I'm just following their lead.

What I Learned About "Friction"

The Markety said something interesting: "Customers want low friction."

That means: Don't make people work hard to contact you.

My original plan:

  • Click ad → Fill out form → Wait for call

Their suggestion:

  • Click ad → Go straight to Messenger → Chat now

Less steps = more people take action.

I'm learning that every extra step loses customers.
Makes sense when I think about it.
I hate filling out forms too.

Teacher's Take

  • I love that Ricky has activity and is learning.
  • We'll see how the ad performs over the next 7 days.

The Numbers - Day 25

Money Spent: $73.17 (I was wrong yesterday). I assumed the Facebook ad just took the $10 out each day. It doesn't. It only takes up to $10 per day and we only used $8.

Money In: $4,000
Subscribers: 23 (no change)
Potential Sponsor: 1 (they are helping me with the ads and Facebook)

How I'm feeling: 8.0/10
(Waiting...)
